Content Moved Into AI Chats. Monetization Didn't.

A draft now takes about as long as a coffee.

The affiliate link still takes seven steps.Creators research, write and edit inside ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini. Then, to earn anything from it, they leave. Find the partner program. Search for the right offer. Create the link. Add the correct affiliate ID. Check the tracking parameters. Paste it back into the content. Open another dashboard to see what happened after the click.

Every one of those steps is a small exit. Nobody plans to publish without a link. They just reach step four, glance at the clock, and hit publish anyway.

That's the odd thing about making the writing faster. It doesn't make anyone earn faster. Speed up every step except one, and the one you skipped becomes the only step that matters. AI didn't remove the slow part of content work. It made monetization the only slow part left. And the hard part isn't the clever part. AI is already good at noticing that a paragraph mentions a product. What doesn't get cheaper is the plumbing behind it: the right personal tag, the right partner network, a link that keeps tracking after it's published.

That's the layer we're building at Linkify.ai — so the money part of the workflow can live where the writing already happens, instead of in one more tab.

ChatGPT and Claude already let outside tools work inside the chat. We suspect the next generation of SaaS won't ask people to open another dashboard at all. It will simply be there, in the place they were going to work anyway. How many steps does it take you to add one affiliate link today?
